Hi, my name is Mark Malatesta.
I’ve worked at the highest levels in publishing, supporting authors and publishers with my book development, publishing, and marketing strategies. Before I became an author coach, I served a Marketing & Licensing manager for a large publisher called Blue Mountain Arts. I was also the owner and president of a successful literary agency called New Brand Agency Group where I secured publishing contracts for authors with publishers such as Random House, Thomas Nelson, Simon & Schuster, St. Martin’s, Hyperion, Prentice-Hall, Workman, Andrews-McMeel, Entrepreneur, Barron’s, Amacom, and more.
My work in publishing has resulted in authors having their books picked up for TV, stage, and feature film with companies like Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks. My authors have gotten 6-figure advances, appeared on the NY Times bestseller list, been licensed in more than 30 countries, received dozens of national/international awards and honors, and sold millions of books. I genuinely enjoy helping authors write, publish, and promote their books in a better way. That’s why I have this Q&A page on my website. All you have to do to get an answer to your question is scroll below and post it.
I answer all questions as quick as possible, usually within 48 hours. You’ll get an automatic email notification via email when I post a response. If you want me to review your material (i.e. query letter, synopsis, sample pages, website/blog, etc.) and provide more personalized/detailed feedback and suggestions, click here to discover how you can schedule an introductory Author Coaching call with me. Either way, I’m looking forward to learning more about you and your book(s), and helping you achieve your publishing goals. Remember, getting published isn’t luck–it’s a decision!
